    Probably not the innings that he wanted but he breezed through it.

    It's a well taken catch by Ben Curran, who was fielding into the sun, and a deserved wicket for Blessing Muzarabani, who has bowled better than his figures of 2-133 suggest.

    It's all very comfortable for England at the moment. If I were Ben Stokes, I'd be happy to tick along at this rate until lunch and then declare.

    There was some good pace on that ball. Harry Brook hit a bit of an uppercut, it was up in the air but that was a really difficult catch. He did well to make up that ground.

    I just can’t see teams not taking advantage of any injury substitution rules. Imagine an injured Mark Wood coming off ‘injured’ after his first long spell of the second innings, only to be replaced by Jofra Archer.

    Not new, but something that never fails to amuse me at this ground. Downstairs, just below the press box, are the Hadlee Waiting Area and Sobers Waiting Area. Two former Nottinghamshire men, two all-time greats.

    I'm not sure I've ever seen another waiting area named after anything or anyone. There must be a rich seam of strange things named after sports stars to be mined.
