    Reviewing City's pre-season tour

Leicester City midfielder Oliver Skipp features on the latest edition of BBC Radio Leicester's When You're Smiling podcast to talk about how pre-season preparations at the Foxes are progressing.

The 25-year-old spoke following Leicester's 3-3 draw with Malaga, in what was the League One club's final fixture of their pre-season camp in Spain last week.

Before that, the Foxes had beaten Cadiz on their travels, and got the better of Northampton Town in friendly matches since Leicester boss Russell Martin took charge.

"Everyone has flourished and we can be proud of all performances, really, in pre-season," Skipp said.

"There have been moments where we haven't quite been as good, but on the whole I think there have been positive signs."

You can listen to the full Skipp interview, as well as in-depth analysis of pre-season to date, on BBC Sounds.

'We've already had conversations with Leicester'

Sheffield United are in talks with Leicester City over a deal to bring Australian international defender Harry Souttar back to the club.

Blades manager Chris Wilder has confirmed discussions are ongoing with the Foxes to sign the 27-year-old, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Bramall Lane.

"He's one that obviously has got history with us and we have been linked with him as well," Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"We've already had conversations with Leicester about taking him, so the conversations will be ongoing.

"He's a player that obviously I like and he had a great time on the pitch for us and off the pitch with the supporters. They rated him and they valued him."

Wilder said he "100%" expects incomings to arrive before Sheffield United's competitive season starts in the EFL Cup first round at Mansfield Town on 9 August.

The 58-year-old has identified centre-back and the wide positions as a priority for reinforcements, with the club also in talks with SK Brann winger Rabbi Matondo, who has featured in pre-season for United.

Centre-back Mark McGuinness is not part of Wilder's plans for the 2026-27 season and the club are trying to offload the 27-year-old, while fellow defender Nils Zatterstrom is expected to go out on loan.

Abdul Fatawu is having a medical at Ipswich as part of a £20m move from Leicester.

The winger is due to become the latest player to leave the Foxes since their relegation from the Championship.

Fatawu will join Gary O'Neil's Ipswich side after scoring 16 goals in 100 games for Leicester since initially joining on loan from Sporting Lisbon in 2023.

He will become the Tractor Boys' fourth summer signing after striker Emersonn joined from Toulouse earlier this month for around £26m while the loans of Cedric Kipre and Chuba Akpom were made permanent.

Ipswich are planning for the Premier League under O'Neil after Kieran McKenna decided to leave Portman Road in May, despite guiding the club to a second Premier League promotion.

Fatawu will be the latest departure from Leicester as new manager Russell Martin shapes his Foxes squad for their League One campaign.

Leicester have already sold Jeremy Monga to Manchester City and Harry Winks to Cagliari while Victor Kristiansen has joined Panathinaikos on loan.

Jannik Vestergaard also had his contract ended by mutual consent while Patson Daka, Ricardo Pereira and Jordan Ayew were among the senior players released following relegation.
