    The follow-on was the right decision. The batters would gain little from another thrash about but the bowlers should benefit from 120-130 overs without an innings break. This isn't a competitive match but still needs winning and as soon as possible.

    That attempted single from Ben Curran, therefore, was the kind of momentary head-loss which they cannot afford.

    In terms of hitting a good length and drawing a false shot from the batters, Sam Cook was England’s ‘best’ specialist bowler on debut.

    Of the three out and out quicks, he hit a good length most often (55%) and drew more false shots (27%).

    England have had times today where they've been pretty good, but there's also been times where they haven't.

    Shoaib Bashir could have had a couple of wickets in that over.

    After the missed caught and bowled, he bowls one to Victor Nyauchi which whistles past the stumps. Very close indeed.

    Blessing Muzarabani strikes the ball back towards the bowler but it goes quick and low through his legs and away to the boundary. Maybe his earlier finger injury was playing on his mind.

    It feels unlikely that Richard Ngarava, who left the field yesterday with a back injury, will come out to bat, so this could be Zimbabwe's final pair.
