A woman in her 20s was found dead at a flat in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a flat in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called at about 03:30 BST to Oakwell Court on Oakwell Grove where they discovered the body of a women in her 20s.

The 30-year-old suspect, from Stoke-on-Trent, was in custody for questioning, Staffordshire Police said.

A cordon remains at the scene where there is to be an increased presence as officers gather evidence and provide reassurance to the community.

Police urged anyone with information or CCTV footage to make contact.
